Staff Spotlight | Chloe

Chloe Strickland, IBAO Enrollment Coordinator & Course Producer

Chloe is IBAO’s Enrollment Coordinator & Course Producer—a newly created role on the Education Team when she joined in September last year. This role splits time between the day-to-day needs of our RIBO Level 1 courses and back-end enrollment/course planning.

“I’ve had the support of the team, the instructors, and the students to feel-out my place both within the classroom and behind the scenes. I get to serve as a direct line to the IBAO team for the students and instructors alike, and even co-pilot the class to direct candidates toward the next steps in their licensing journeys. Even after the course ends, I hear from candidates regarding course feedback, exam progress, and continuing education.”

Chloe graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ryerson University in 2021, where she had spent time participating in academic notetaking and assisting in a research lab in their psychology department. Prior to joining IBAO she spent time working in primary school classrooms and teaching English remotely to children ages 3–15 in China.

“I’ve always been passionate about Education and psychology. I was very excited to join the world of adult education outside of a teaching role. The concept for this new role offered an opportunity to approach education from a new lens. I get to participate in multiple facets of our education programs, from the backend processes to the up-front and centre role within the classroom. There are many consistencies in my role, but also a range of new experiences each day.

“My favourite part of working here is getting to work with the IBAO team and the instructors. Each instructor brings their own flare to the classroom and each class brings a new, unique, and diverse group of learners for us to get to know! I’ve learned a lot from our instructors and students alike. Both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our courses, which has helped me to learn a lot about the insurance industry.”

Chloe spends as much of her free time as possible with family and friends, often going to see movies and catching up on favourite TV shows together.

“I love exploring Toronto with friends from the city on my time off, especially to discover new places to eat, and hosting family and friends from my hometown—Kingston—when they come to visit. When I’m on my own, I enjoy listening to music and doing charcoal pencil artwork.”
