Staff Spotlight: Aziz
From petty cash to signing cheques and everything in between, it’s my responsibility.
When he’s not staring at numbers all day, staying active with his wife and two kids plays an important role in his life. “As a family we play badminton and table tennis. We have a ping pong table in our basement. I often take my son swimming.” Aziz enjoys learning new computer programming software like ASP.NET and C#. While he enjoys traveling with his family—next stop Newfoundland—Toronto will always be home. “Once you live in Toronto, nowhere else compares.”
Man–behind–the–scenes Aziz has been with the IBAO three and a half years as Accounting Supervisor. His role in the office encompasses everything numbers–based. “From petty cash to signing cheques and everything in between, it’s my responsibility.” Before joining the IBAO, Aziz worked at the Health Council of Canada—a federally governed agency. When the company shut down for political reasons, he decided a change from the ordinary was in order. “I decided to take a break after doing the same job all those years. I started a small business exporting grain. But it was a very fast and competitive market that proved to be more difficult than I had initially thought—so much for taking a break. After two years I went back to accounting and found the IBAO.”
