5 Apps Created During Lockdown
DOLBY ON
Transform your phone into your very own recording studio by recording audio, video and music with the quality and customization of Dolby sound. You can livestream directly and there’s even a Google TalkBack feature that helps visually impaired individuals interact with the app.
ZENKIT TO DO
Fans of the app Wunderlist (now discontinued) will love this user-friendly task management app. It helps you create, organize and schedule meetings, events, ideas, notes and lists.
A handy little feature allows you to assign and share tasks with colleagues, friends and family.
WATCHWORTHY
Now that we’ve entered the second year of lockdown, most of us are stuck watching Brooklyn 99 reruns because we’ve burned through other options. Watchworthy helps end the scroll with a rating system that swipes right or left for programs of interest—like swiping through Tinder. It analyzes selections and offers personalized recommendations from dozens of networks and over 200 streaming services.
ARRIVECAN
The Government of Canada introduced the ArriveCan app last year to make it easier for travelers to digitally submit their contact info, quarantine plan and Covid assessment before entering the country. It helps ensure everyone entering the country is properly informed of mandatory travel requirements and reduces wait times at the border.
ROTATION MANAGER
The screen rotation setting on your phone is convenient when watching videos or playing games but irritating when it flips to landscape while you’re laying in bed scrolling TikTok at 2AM when you should be asleep. Rotation Manager solves that issue by customizing screen rotation based on the app you’re using—landscape for Netflix, portrait for texting. Problem solved.
